WORLAND — The Worland Board of Adjustments and Planning Commission voted to approve the new site plan for Worland Pharmacy.

David Albright, former Worland Shopko pharmacist, submitted the plans to the BAPC for their review at their regular meeting last Thursday, May 16. According to Worland Building Official Randy Adams, the lot is at 1095 Circle Road and is 4,000 square feet.

The proposed building is 2,500 square feet with the rest of the lot landscaped and parking lot. There will be 9 parking spots including one handicap spot.

Access to the pharmacy will be off of Circle Drive.

He noted that the plans call for a full-service pharmacy with a drive-thru on the west side.

Approval for the site plan was approved on contingency that Albright address a sewer line issue. Adams said Goodie’s service sewer line runs across the Worland Pharmacy property. He said in the past there was one owner for both lots so no easement was ever obtained, even when the one lot was sold several years ago.

The current site plan would have the building lying over the sewer line, which is against city code. Adams said Albright has two choices, move the sewer line or adjust plans and move the building so it won’t set on top of the line.

There is room to move the building and still be within city code regarding setbacks, according to Adams.

Adams said Albright said he has an aggressive opening date of Aug. 1.

In other BAPC news, Moses and Amber Vega requested a variance for their property at 801 Grace Avenue. They want to build a 10-foot porch but it would encroach on the 25-foot setback regulation. The variance was approved.
