Another clean sheet for the Warriors as they advance to 3A title match

Lady Warriors set to play Riverton in third-place match

May 16, 2019

JACKSON — The Worland Warriors posted another shutout in the 3A State boys soccer tournament Friday night at Jackson Hole High School. This time the Warriors downed the Buffalo Bison 4-0 in the semifinals; advancing to the title match where they will face the Powell Panthers Saturday at 3 p.m.

The Warriors not only have the opportunity to win back-to-back state championships but they can join Jackson and Cody as the only programs to win consecutive titles in 3A, since the creation of the class in 2008.

For the Lady Warriors, it was another heartbreaking loss to the Cody Fillies as they fell in the semifinals 1-0. As disappointing as the defeat was, the Lady Warriors can still end their season with a win by beating the Riverton Lady Wolverines in Saturday's third-place match at 11 a.m.

Look to next week's edition of the Northern Wyoming News on May 23 for a full recap of the Warriors and Lady Warriors journey through the state tournament.
