4th annual Battle of the Bands cancelled

August 8, 2019

WORLAND — The fourth annual Battle of the Bands has been cancelled.

According to Worland Community Center Complex Marketing Director Sheryl Ley the Battle of the Bands, which was slated for Aug. 23, has been cancelled due to budget constraints.

“We’re going to see what we can do next year,” Ley said.

The Worland Battle of the Bands began in 2016 with Day by Day, a Big Horn Basin band, taking home the top prize of $1,000.

Each year six to seven bands, encompassing a variety of genres, from around the area would compete.

The event started at the community center complex and was moved to the Rumors parking lot in 2017 and 2018.

This year Ley had scheduled it for the Friday following the Pepsi Wyoming BBQ Championship and Bluegrass Festival to highlight an event every weekend in August (with fair weekend and Nowoodstock also in the mix in August).
