UPDATE 8:50 p.m.. 3/24/20 -- State COVID-19 cases increase to 37

This story was updated Tuesday evening to update the total number of postive COVID-19 cases in the state to 37 with new cases in Teton, Carbon, Fremont and Natrona counties and the first reported case in Sweetwater County.

Per the Washakie County Public Health COVID-19 Facebook Page there have been 16 tests with 15 negatives and 1 pending results as of Tuesday afternoon.

Per the Wyoming Health Department website, https://health.wyo.gov/publichealth/infectious-disease-epidemiology-unit/disease/novel-coronavirus/ latest testing numbers as of Tuesday evening are

3/24/20 (case numbers only updated 7:30 p.m.)

Tests completed at Wyoming Public Health Laboratory: 567

Tests completed at CDC lab: 1

Tests reported by commercial labs: 171

(Commercial labs are required to report positive test results to WDH; negative results are not reported consistently.)

Stay home when sick and avoid contact with other people unless you need medical attention.

Follow advice from CDC on what to do if you think you may be sick.

Follow common-sense steps such as washing your hands often and well; covering your coughs and sneezes; and cleaning and disinfecting.

Nursing homes, assisted living facilities and other healthcare facilities should closely follow guidelines for infection control and prevention.

Older people and those with health conditions that mean they have a higher chance of getting seriously ill should avoid close-contact situations.
