COVID-19 UPDATE 3 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2020: State COVID count at 239, 0 deaths

The Wyoming Department of Health Thursday reported 239 COVID-19 confirmed cases in the state, in 19 counties with 101 recovered and zero deaths. They are also now reporting probable cases (persons with a close contact to a laboratory confirmed COVID-19 case AND develop symptoms of COVID-19, but are not tested. ) at 81 in the state.

Niobrara reported its first case today.

Counties that have not reported a positive case yet are Big Horn, Hot Springs, Platte and Weston.

Washakie County Public Health is reporting 37 tests with 28 returned as negative, 5 positive, and 3 with results pending. One of the positive Washakie County residents was collected in Hot Springs County and one is the out-of-state inmate.

The governor extended all state closures and gathering orders through April and added a 14-day travel quarantine. He also amended the curbside and take-out orders for restaurants. Only curbside delivery is allowed. No one is allowed inside restaurants.

The county is at Level 3 status through April.

The WDH lists 101 cases recovered, 0 deaths.

Number of lab confirmed cases recovered: 80

Number of probable cases recovered: 21

A case is defined as recovered when there is resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and there is improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g. cough, shortness of breath) for 72 hours AND at least 7 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.

WDH reports 15.5% hospitalized of lab-confirmed cases.

*PLEASE NOTE: Information about hospitalization status reflects only hospitalizations reported to the Wyoming Department of Health, therefore this information may be incomplete. This number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.
