WORLAND - The variance for the Washakie County Fair for outdoor gatherings has been approved by State Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist.

The board sought a variance to the order allowing only 250 people to gather at outdoor events.

The variance sought up to 750 guests and outlines a plan of separating the bleacher seating by taping off every other row to encourage social distancing. This will allow about 600 people in the stands.

The board will allow, per the variance up to 75 people to bring camp chairs and sit at the east end of the arena, while maintaining social distancing in groups.

According to the approval from Harrist, all other provisions in the state health order on gatherings must be adhered to, including household groups of six must be separated from other household groups by six feet.

The variance was sought and approved for Monday night's pig wrestling, Wednesday night's ranch rodeo, Thursday night's kids rodeo, Friday night's Fair Rodeo and Saturday's Monster Trucks.
