Last farmers market of the season this Saturday

WORLAND – A strong 2021 farmers market season will come to a close this Saturday with the final Washakie Farmers Market in Worland from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
According to Mark Stiver, longtime vendor and committee member, this year's markets have had an increase in both attendants and vendors. He said with two new produce vendors, and anywhere between 15 and 21 vendors at each market, this year has shown improvement in attendance, and diversity of products.
Vendors this year have sold baked goods, coffee, street tacos, tamales, steak burritos and kettle corn. The most popular produce this year has been sweet corn.
Saturday, Sept 18's market had a fiesta theme in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month. There was a piñata break for the kids, as well as a visit from Matamoros Grilling & Love.
The season's last market will be Saturday at North 9th and Big Horn Ave. in Worland. They will be holding a pumpkin decoration contest. Participants may carve, paint or decorate their pumpkin as they want. They must bring their finished project to the market by 10 a.m. The categories are funniest, scariest and most creative or unusual.
Winners will be announced around 11 a.m.
