Community shows true Christmas spirit

December 23, 2021

Thank you Washakie County; your generosity never ceases to amaze.

Every year we have sponsored the Silver Tree for Seniors I am amazed and blessed by the generosity of folks wanting to help spread the Christmas cheer with our elderly.

Over the past four years I have heard tell many a story about the powerful, positive impact your generosity makes on those who receive the gifts. One year I was even blessed with the privilege of helping to deliver the gifts and got to see firsthand the joy those gifts bring.

It truly is better to give than to receive.

We had 25 silver bells on the tree this year, representing residents in the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation and residents from around Worland through a list provided by the Worland Senior Center.

With COVID hitting Ten Sleep hard when the planning began the Ten Sleep Senior Center was unable to participate, but thanks to your generosity as we received 38 gifts, we shared that generosity with Ten Sleep to help some of the less fortunate seniors there as well.

Did you see that, 38 gifts. This community went above and beyond. Thank you.

Some Worland Middle School students also made Christmas cards to add to the gifts to be delivered.

And, while we are not directly associated with the angel trees for children and the Christmas food basket program I know each year your generosity helps make Christmas a little brighter for children in the area and for families in the area.

Your kindness and generosity this year and every year is the epitome of the Christmas spirit.

It is truly a blessing to give in a community where the generosity knows no bounds.

Merry Christmas.
