Hospital board seeks to fill two positions

July 7, 2022

WORLAND – During their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, June 28, the Washakie Medical Center Hospital Board was informed of the possibility of two openings on the board.

Treasurer Marlene Bower and Kimberly Daniels-Kielmeyer have both been absent during the last couple of meetings.

Hospital board president Dean Carrell received a letter from Bower providing her formal resignation from the board.

Bower wrote, “Please accept this letter as a formal notification that I’m resigning from my position as treasurer with the board. My last day will be July 12. Thank you for the opportunity to serve on this board. It’s been a growing

experience and a chance to meet and appreciate leaders in the community.”

Carrell reached out to board member Ryan Baumeister and asked if he would be interested in stepping in as treasurer until elections. Baumeister agreed to this and a motion was made during the meeting to appoint him to the position.

It was brought to Carrell’s attention that Daniels-Kielmeyer and her family has recently moved and she will be gone for at least two years.

Carrell said he’s reached out to her but has not been able to get a letter of resignation. He called the Washakie County Commissioners and had them reach out to her as well.

Washakie County is advertising for an unspecified number of trustees “unexpired five-year terms.”

JULY MEETING

Carrell recommended cancelling the July 26 board meeting due to the fact that both he and vice president Sheri Gunderson would be absent for it – meaning they would be short four board members and thus not have a quorum.

A motion approved to cancel this meeting and move elections to August.
