Margaret Louise (Coats) Stark

Margaret Louise (Coats) Stark was a woman dedicated to a life of service, passed suddenly on September 19, 2022 at St Vincent Healthcare in Billings, Montana. Meg was born in the winter on the sixth day of February 1935 to Lydia and William Coats of Lamar, Colorado during the time of the Great Depression and the end of the Dust Bowl, where she grew up with her four siblings. Like these events, Meg lived through so many historic events and loved to educate anyone that would lend an ear.

She met the love of her life, Edgar Daniel Stark II "Dan", in college at CSU. They were married on June 1, 1958. They began a life full of adventure: fishing, hunting, camping and boating. Meg called Worland, Wyoming her home for the majority of her life and loved every moment of living there. Meg and Dan were blessed with a son Edgar Daniel "Ed" Stark III in March of 1961. Ed gave Meg the greatest blessing of all - grandchildren, three to be exact: Danny, Desiree, and Mariah. Meg's family didn't end there; she was constantly "adopting" people into her family, moving coworkers and friends into her home and into her fold like Teresa Bader, Linda Gossens and many others. Their kids became her grandkids, Nick Bader, Kris Marcus and Kraig Gossens, all called her Grandma Meg. Then there were her "boys," Ray Kohn, Robby Logan and Mike Willard, who filled in for her after she lost Dan and Ed, "Mama Meg" was there for them as much as they were for her, nursing wounds and hearts.

Meg seemed to always be involved and on the move. She was the Chief Medical Technologist at Washakie Memorial Hospital from 1963-1998, a founding member of Gorgeous Gals, (a group dedicated to helping Breast Cancer Survivors, Meg herself a 33-year survivor). She was a coordinating committee member of the Intermountain States Seminar for the last 25 years, as well as a member of the American Society of Medical Technologies, active in state, national and regional levels since 1971. Meg donated countless hours to the hospital gift shop and many, many other organizations throughout her life. Meg loved to be involved and help. Her dedication to this community is unmatched for she was a woman of the people. She loved her family, her friends, and if you were blessed to know Meg Stark, then you too were part of the family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan; son, Ed; brothers: Chester, Glen and Roy Coats; sister, Mary Ellen Smith.

She is survived by her grandchildren: Edgar Daniel Stark IV (Sunrise) of Jackson, Wyoming; Desiree Stark (Chris James) of Helena, Montana; and Mariah Stark of Salmon, Idaho and her great-grandchildren, Breanne Stark, and Faren James.

Cremation has taken place and a private family committal will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the B&PW Reforestation Program and sent to PO Box 524, Worland, WY 82401. Online condolences may be made at http://www.bryantfuneral
