Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years

Shommarie Lee (Green) Decker

Shommarie Lee Decker was 58, born in Lynwood California, on November 29th, 1965. Shom

was a very hardworking woman. She was nothing less than that. She worked at Worland Healthcare for many years. She was a cook in the kitchen and absolutely loved her job, as well as many of the people she met there along the seventeen dedicated years she was employed. In March of 2024, Shom was diagnosed with lung cancer. She fought hard, but unfortunately, she lost that battle on November 3rd, 2024. Shom peacefully passed away, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Bret Decker, parents, brother, Jake Green, niece, Laura, and many other friends and loved ones. Shom's survivors include a huge family that love her immensely. She had two children, Holly Anne Herrera of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Christopher Grant Decker, of Worland; Jennifer Black, her adopted daughter, from Helena, Montana; as well as her sisters: Glenda Duckett, Teresa Hughes (her twin), and Marlena Flesher. From her siblings, she has many nieces and nephews, many of which had children along the way whom she loved deeply. Shom had many grandchildren, and it was only a matter of time before she became "Nana". Her grandchildren consist of Leilani Herrera, Trenten Herrera, Ethan Herrera and Levi Leyva. Her grandchild from Christopher and Michelle McCleran is Sofi Renee Decker. She loved her grandchildren immensely, along with her great-grandchildren that Leilani brought into the family, Cecilio and Amelia Alvarado. Shom loved her family very much, and she was loved beyond measure by each and every person.

Shom was an impeccable woman. She was a role model for everyone, and often a mother or "Nana" to those that didn't "belong" to her. She made sure no matter who you were, that you were fed, welcomed, and most importantly, she made you feel loved. There was no room in her home or in her heart for anything less. There are absolutely no words to explain how incredible she truly was. She was there to support anyone, without question. Everyone who knew her, is deeply affected by this tragic loss. She was an amazing, beautiful woman, and now she is our angel.

A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Worland Aerie & Auxiliary 3096. Online condolences may be made at http://www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com
