WORLAND - The Worland High School golf team spring season is underway and last Thursday they hosted a tournament at the Green Hills Golf Course. TEN SLEEP – Friday morning, Kurt and Alanna Steinke spoke to the Ten Sleep School students about summer safety and stranger danger during an all-school assembly. WORLAND – The Washakie County Commission met on Tuesday and heard a variety of reports from county agencies, most notably regarding a water project on the Lower Nowood. WORLAND — Golfer Brenda Stutheit and former mayor LaVertha Gotier came to the Worland City Council Tuesday requesting that during the budget work for the 2018-2019 fiscal year, the city consider a permanent restroom at Green Hills Golf Course. The front nine restroom was removed earlier this spring and replaced with a portable, Americans with Disabilities Act compliant, restroom. Joe M. Maya went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 7, 2018. He was born on September 11, 1934 in Garland, Wyoming to Jose and Susana (Ramirez) Maya. He moved to California at a young age and lived there until his father passed away. He moved back to Wyoming and eventually to Worland. He enlisted in the United States Army in November of 1952, graduating from boot camp in California and then fought in the Korean Conflict where he was wounded by being shot in the leg.
