Gathering for a photo in front of the banner of Highclere Castle, the central location for the PBS show "Downton Abbey" are (l-r) Katie Schmeltzer, Jeri Bostrom, Martha Lawley and Lee Haines of Wyoming PBS. Haines said fans of the show enjoy how "well drawn the characters are." The show, which enters its final season, is set in the time of the Titanic to about 1924, Haines said, and highlights technological changes as well as changes in the world, centering it around Highclere Castle in England. The free screening of the first hour of the Season 6 season premier was sponsored by Wyoming PBS and the Washakie Museum and held Tuesday at the Washakie Museum. Haines noted the castle has Wyoming ties. According to a Billings Gazette article, Highclere Castle, is owned by Big Horn rancher Paul Wallop's first cousin, the Earl of Carnarvon. According to the same article, former U.S. Senator Malcom Wallop's sister, "Jean, who was born and grew up in Wyoming, married the man who would become the seventh Earl of Carnarvon and owner of Highclere Castle."
