WORLAND – The Worland boys swimming team ended the home portion of the 2016 schedule in dominant fashion on Tuesday, handling Cody easily 92-41.

The Warriors won 10 out of 12 events in the dual and also had a few more kids add qualifying times.

"Overall, not bad. A lot of the kids were sick, a lot of them are tired and we did have some fun," Worland boys swimming coach Kristin Kelton said after the win. "We still picked up qualifying times and Gabe Durrant cut 14 seconds in his 100 free.

"We love seeing those kinds of things, especially when they're tired and sick."

Three more Warriors added qualifying times in the win.

Freshman Joshua Kelton took second in the 200-yard individual medley and qualified with a time of 2 minute, 34.86 seconds. Levi Sinn and Dalton Jeffries finished in first and second in the 500-yard freestyle and both qualified with times of 6:13.58 and 6:20.44, respectively.

A short break happened during the meet as Worland senior swimmers and managers were honored after the diving event.

Coach Kristin Kelton admitted she's not much of an emotional person and didn't get too worked up as the seniors were listed off – one being her own son.

"State will probably be a little more emotional because that will truly be the last time I get to see them swim," the first-year coach said.

Of the members honored were Matthew Kelton and Levi Sinn – both four-year members of the Worland swimming team during their high school careers.

"(We're going to miss) not only their leadership, but just the swimming ability. Matthew is an all-around swimmer who we can put in any event and he will place pretty well. With Levi, that's going to hurt us with our sprints," Kristin said.

Up next, Worland will compete in Riverton on Friday, Jan. 29 and then finish off the weekend in Pinedale as it travels there on Saturday, Jan. 30.
