Sunday morning crash forces 'until-further-notice' closure of Lander office

A large sport-utility vehicle slammed into the side of the Wyoming Department of Transportation building along Buena Vista Drive in Lander before sunrise Sunday morning.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation's Lander office will be closed until further notice beginning Monday following a Sunday morning crash which caused significant damage to the building.

"Crews are working to secure the area and board it up today, and a structural evaluation will be completed Monday," said WYDOT Chief Engineer Gregg Fredrick of Cheyenne. "Employees of the resident engineer's office will not be able to access their work stations until it is determined to be safe to do so.
