Big Horn Coalition seeks input on mountain camping

March 17, 2016

WORLAND – The Big Horn Mountain Coalition (BHMC) is seeking input from outdoor enthusiasts and Washakie County residents on the subject of dispersed camping tonight at 5:30 p.m. at the Worland Community Center Complex.

As defined by the BHMC, “dispersed” camping is camping in the Big Horns, anywhere outside of designated camping areas. During the workshop, the fourth in a series, the BHMC will collect questions from the public to compile recommendations for the U.S. Forest Service, Wyoming Forestry Division, and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.

The BHMC is an economic development district comprised of Big Horn, Johnson, Sheridan and Washakie counties. The mission of the BHMC is to promote economic development in the region, with a focus on responsible use of natural resources and recreational opportunities.

The BHMC invites interested parties, not able to attend the meeting, to complete their survey at bighornmountains.org.
