Two more file for Worland City Council

May 21, 2016

WORLAND – Five current city council members have filed with the Worland City Clerk’s office to retain their seats on the Worland City Council.

Joining incumbents Keith Gentzler (Ward 1), Marcus Sanchez (Ward 3), Lisa Fernandez (Ward 1) and Mandy Horath (Ward 2), who filed earlier in the week, Dennis Koch (Ward 2) has also filed, as of Friday afternoon. The only incumbent not to file is Loresa Brinkerhoff, also of Ward 2. Jim Gill’s Ward 1 seat is also open but he has elected to file for mayor, rather than file to retain his mayoral seat.

Jacquelyn Ernest filed early for a Ward 1 seat. Filing for the Ward 3 seat is Lucas Cain Torrez.

Ward 1 includes the area north of Culbertson from 10th Street to 38th street; Ward 2 is south of Culbertson from 10th street and south of Big Horn from 15th Street, Ward 3 is west of 10th Street. A ward map is available on the city’s website at worlandwy.govoffce3.com.

Joining Gill in the mayoral race are Keith McDonald, Jerry Alexander, Jody Thibodeaux and Kreg Lombard.

For Washakie County, Aaron Anderson has filed for re-election to the commissioners. He has filed on the Republican ticket and is the only candidate to date.

Filing ends Friday, May 27. Persons filing for county office file with the county clerk’s office at the courthouse.
