WORLAND – Over 100 animals were tagged at the Washakie County Fairgrounds and at a Ten Sleep Park over a two day period.

The tagging, available for 4-H and FFA members, started at 5 p.m. and lasted until 6:30 p.m. on both days, Washakie County 4-H Educator Amber Armajo said.

The event was set up by the Washakie County Fair Board and the University of Wyoming County Extension office helped run it, Armajo said.

"I counted this morning and we tagged 70 pigs, 45 sheep and 10 goats," she added of Tuesday night's tagging in Washakie County.

On Wednesday night tagging was done in Ten Sleep and 4 pigs, 5 sheep and no goats were tagged, Janet Benson with the University of Wyoming County Extension said.

Why tag

"Tagging is a requirement if they want to sell or show animals at country fair ... The fair board does it every year for the Washakie County Fair in August," she said.
