WORLAND – The Relay For Life event, for people to support those who have had, have or know someone who has or had cancer, at the Worland High School track Friday night was a huge success.

"I couldn't be happier with the turn out, we had an amazing turnout. All 19 teams were there and about 350 people attended," Relay For Life event chair Amy Reid stated. "In total we made about $28,000 for the American Cancer Society. This community is outstanding and I love the giving heart of people," she added.

Most of the people who attended stayed until midnight. "Most people who attended stayed for the entire evening. We had a lot of miles going, there were people who walked even longer than anticipated. It was incredible," Reid said.

Reid cannot express enough gratitude to all the volunteers who made the event possible and such a success. "There are so many people that I need to thank because this is a huge event that couldn't be done without the many hands that were there Friday night. I know that I am going to forget people, but again, a huge thank you to the school district for hosting our event, all the volunteers, our sponsors and Benita Bower for providing all the food. Without you, this event couldn't have been possible," Reid said. "Also a huge thank you to my team: Robin Wildman, Tracy Glanz, Rhonda Tigner, Amanda Kretz, Bonnie Amend, Janet Becker and Hannah Nissen," she added.

"I hope that we made many wonderful, fun memories for our community and the children of this community because I know that we made a difference in cancer, providing those funds for research, education and advocacy," Reid stated.
