WORLAND — The Babaganoush Fire, 25 miles south, southwest of Meeteetse, has burned 200 acres on Bureau of Land Management land.

BLM District Public Affairs Officer Sarah Beckwith said the fire was reported at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. She said the fire is west of Grass Creek and east of Dundee Mountain. She said it is burning in some timber.

She said firefighters from BLM and Hot Springs County are on scene, along with a smokejumper crew. Additional crews are en route, Beckwith said. A fixed-wing aircraft has been dropping retardant helping keep the fire in check until more ground crews arrive.

She said the cause is undetermined at this time.

Beckwith noted that Hot Springs County firefighters were first on scene Monday and named the fire.
