Primary candidates disclose expenditures, donations

WORLAND – Under Wyoming State Statute 22-25-18, candidates for the August primary election were required to file campaign contribution disclosures forms by Aug. 26, and file them with the county clerk or Secretary of State’s office.

At the local level, all but one Worland mayoral candidate had filed final papers on Thursday with the Washakie County Clerk.

For the position of County Commissioner, incumbent Aaron Anderson reported $370 in contributions and $370 in expenditures, for advertising and parade materials. Christapher Godfrey listed $87.78 in personal contributions, with no expenditures.


For Worland mayor, Gerald Alexander filed $210 in contributions with no expenditures, James Gill filed $789.14 in contributions with $1,008.79 in expenditures for advertising, Kreg Lombard listed no contributions and $748.55 in material expenses, Keith McDonald filed $2,250 in contributions and $2,250 in advertising expenses, Jody Thibodeaux filed $408.41 in contributions, with no expenditures turned in as of Thursday.


County Clerk Mary Grace Strauch noted that late-filing warning notices will be sent out for non-filers after Labor Day, and according to state statute, will be turned over to the county attorney’s office for enforcement. Noncompliance can result in a fine of $500, and a five-year probation from running for public office.

For Worland City Council candidates, Keith Gentzler filed $85 in contributions and $85 in expenses, and Dennis Koch filed $65 in contributions and expenses.

Council candidates Lisa Fernandez, Jacquelyn Ernest, Mandy Horath, Cain Torrez, Marcus Sanchez, and Loresa Brinkerhoff all claimed zero contributions and zero expenses.

As filed with the Secretary of State, Senate 20 Republican candidates Wyatt Agar disclosed $15,828.94 in contributions, Robert Bayuk claimed $1,500, and Ron Harvey filed $8,230.45. Agar defeated Harvey and Bayuk in the primary election Aug. 16.

Agar, who defeated Harvey and Bayuk in the primary election Aug. 16, top six contributors included Carleen Brophy of Jackson ($1,000), Daniel Brophy of Jackson ($1,000) Paul Galovich of Thermopolis ($1,000), Michael Sergent of Juneau, Alaska, ($1,000), Dave Hamilton of Worland ($750), and Dee Hillberry of Thermopolis ($500). All other private contributions to Agar for Senate were $500 or less.

House District 26 candidate Philip Abromats declared zero contributions, while Timothy Mills declared $600, and Jamie Lynn Flitner filed for a total of $5,770.86.
