No. 4 Worland sweeps No. 2 Buffalo 3-0
Lady Warriors makes it a perfect 3-0 against quad opponents

BUFFALO - Having defeated 3A East West Quadrant opponents Thermopolis and Rawlins earlier in the week. The Worland Lady Warriors (16-2) traveled to Buffalo (16-3) and defeated the Lady Bison 3-0 Saturday afternoon in a matchup against top-ranked opponents.
WHS volleyball coach Brittany Miller said Saturday's victory was due to the Lady Warriors precision passing and serving as well as a strong defensive tone that was set early.
"We talked about the week being like state, by playing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday you face the best team. We knew it was going to be a battle and that we had to be at our best. I'm really proud of our girls because they rose to the challenge.
"We passed the ball and served well above 90 percent. With us passing and serving that well it allowed us to stay in system and build a rhythm. We also put up huge blocks early in the game and shut down some key hitters, as the match wore on those hitters kind of mentally shutdown because they didn't want to swing into anymore blocks. So passing, serving and definitely our blocking were factors in our win," said coach Miller.
Worland's win, 25-21, 25-19, 25-12, also gave them early command of the 3A East West Quadrant. The Lady Warriors sit atop of the standings with their unblemished 3-0 record followed by Buffalo (2-1), Rawlins (1-2) and Thermopolis (0-3).
While Miller wants her team to be proud of beating Buffalo, she still wants them to remain focused and dedicated to improving. "There's a lot of time left in the season and volleyball is such a momentum game. Buffalo will definitely bounce back from this, we're going to see them on our home court, probably at regionals and most likely at state as well. I feel like we can't think much into it, we have to keep getting better every single day because Buffalo will too. So that way we can make sure we can do it again.
Worland has two matches this week both of which are on the road. Friday the Lady Warriors travel to Torrington, then Saturday they play in Wheatland. Coach Miller believes both teams are going to pose a challenge. "Torrington and Wheatland are extremely scrappy, it will be similar to the match against Rawlins, so we have to be ready to show up, pass well and be just as scrappy," said coach Miller.
