Judiciary Committee to meet in Thermopolis

Two-day agenda April 20-21 includes discussions on domestic violence, probation and parole

WORLAND — The Wyoming Joint Judiciary Committee has a busy agenda during the interim, according to Rep. Nathan Winters (R-Thermopolis) and work begins with the first meeting in Thermopolis later this month.

In an interview last week, Winters said the criminal justice reform bill, House Bill 94, went through the House during the recent session that ended March 3 but was not considered by the Senate. The bill, Winters said, took a look at sentencing and probation and parole reform including enhancing drug courts, with idea of helping first-time responders and getting them in treatment rathe...
