Flood advisory for Washakie County

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a flood advisory for snowmelt in northwestern Washakie County until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Emergency management reported ongoing minor flooding along the Big Horn River in Washakie County especially where 15 Mile Creek enters the Big Horn River near Worland.

High reservoir releases from Boysen will keep the Big Horn River nearly steady through the long Fourth of July weekend. The Big Horn River at 7 p.m. Thursday was at 11.3 feet, and is expected to vary between 11.1 and 11.6 feet through the 4th of July. Flood stage at this location is 10.5 feet...
