Former Ten Sleep mayor passes away

WORLAND — Former Ten Sleep Mayor Pat Beckley passed away Thursday at Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Beckley was 88.

He was elected in May 1996, running unopposed for the seat. He took over for Keith Thurman, who had been appointed mayor but did not seek election to the seat.

Beckley served through May 2000.

Bev Firnekas served on the council when Beckley served as mayor and said, “It was usual business for the city,” during Beckley’s tenure as mayor.
