WORLAND – The second annual Women’s CatchAFire event is Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Worland Middle School Auditorium with the theme “Bringing Our Chaos to Christ.”

Women’s CatchAFire event co-organizer Rebecca Scott stated that so many women lead stressful, chaotic lives with having to try to balance work and home and forget to give their burdens to Christ before they get overwhelmed.

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved,” Scott quoted from Psalm 55. She went on to explain how everyone is guilty of trying to shoulder their troubles by themselves when all they have to do is let God take them over instead of trying to do it all on their own.

Red Arrow Barbecue will be catering the event, as they did last year with the men serving the women, just as the women served the men for the men’s CatchAFire event earlier in the year.

The vision of CatchAFire Women’s Event is to “see women of the Big Horn Basin glorify God by coming to an understanding of who Christ is and living according to His design and purpose revealed in His word.” The mission of CatchAFire Women’s Event is “discipling women through speakers, worship, and bonded Christian fellowship to come and grow in a right relationship with Jesus Christ who will empower each and every one of us to be the women that God calls us to be.”

The foresight behind the CatchAFire Women’s Event began with an expressed desire from women in the Basin for a women’s conference similar to the men’s event. Some wives of those who help plan the men’s event, as well as other members, got together in prayer and planning to bring together women to bond with each other; helping to keep us accountable and connected to seeing families following God.

The main speaker for the event is Lynda Roark from Glendo. She is the women’s ministry director and youth ministry leader and also the executive director of the Mountain Top Baptist Assembly. Her husband, Marty, is the pastor of the Circle G Cowboy Church and Crossroads Baptist Church.

At the end of the event a door prize of a 9 mm firearm and a beauty package will be given out.

Scott thanked the entire community for help in making this event possible.
