COVID UPDATE: Wednesday, Jan. 20, Active Washakie County Cases: 13, State Cases: 1407

As of Wednesday, Jan. 20, the number of laboratory-confirmed coronavirus cases seen since the disease was first diagnosed in the state in mid-March stood at 42,788, an increase of 150 cases over yesterday's 42,638. There was also an additional 7,336 probable cases.

The number of active coronavirus cases in the state was 1,407, up 51 from yesterday.

There were 28 new deaths reported today, one of those being in Washakie County. That brought the state total to 550, see accompanying story for more information.

(First number is lab-confirmed cases; second is probable cases. Probable cases had positive antigen tests or are close contacts of lab-confirmed cases with COVID-19 symptoms).

There have been 40,831 recoveries in lab-confirmed cases and 6,862 probable cases.

The state's mask mandate runs through January 25.

As of Wednesday, there is 1 COVID-19 patient hospitalized at Washakie Medical Center. According to the WDH there is 1 COVID patients at Powell Valley Healthcare, 6 at Cody Regional, no patients in Hot Springs, none at South Big Horn County Hospital and none at North Big Horn Hospital.

The governor implemented new orders as of Jan. 9, these orders were modified to allow for restaurants and bars to stay open until 5 a.m. again. They are in effect through Jan. 25. They can be found at wyodaily.com under the COVID-19 tab.
