WORLAND — After going more than a month without a positive COVID-19 community case (June 1) or a case from the outbreak at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center (June 4), Washakie County reported its 35th case on Tuesday, July 7. WORLAND — Several requests for events this weekend were approved by the Worland City Council, including closing a block of Seventh Street for the Wyoming Thunder Run. WORLAND — The 20th Nowoodstock music festival in Ten Sleep will have to wait a year with organizer Pat O’Brien announcing Monday that he is rescheduling the 20th event for Aug. 13-15, 2021. WORLAND — The Washakie County commissioners listened to a request from Washakie County Ambulance Director Luke Sypherd for a potential increase to the ambulance department’s budget for the 2020-2021 fiscal year. Madelon F. Wetherbee, 90 year old Worland resident passed peacefully on June 16, 2020. Madelon was born July 13, 1929 in Bridger, Montana to Bill and Dorothy Ryan. She was raised in Bridger and received her education at Bridger public school, graduating in 1947. On September 4, 1948 Madelon married Neil Wetherbee in Red Lodge, Montana. GILLETTE — Gov. Mark Gordon is defending a decision by the State Loan and Investment Board to go ahead with a state bid for a package of assets owned by Occidental Petroleum.
