Thermopolis youth killed by passing train identified

WORLAND — A Thermopolis boy who was struck by a freight train in Thermopolis Sunday has been named.

Gavin Jacobson, 12, of Thermopolis was struck and killed by a passing Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway train Sunday at approximately 9:38 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Thermopolis Police Department Chief Steve Shay said.
