Deborah Fassler Reed

July 7, 2017

Deborah Fassler Reed passed away in the early hours of the morning on Saturday the 24th of June, 2017. On that day, she ended her year-long battle with brain cancer at the age of 56. Debby grew up in Worland, Wyoming with her four siblings and parents Jim and Margie Fassler. Her kindness and honesty made her a loved and reliable part of many peoples’ lives. Debby had a special kind of wisdom, a super power she constantly used for good. She helped countless people, both through her work and personal relationships. She was able to touch and inspire everyone who ever knew her. She built her business, Reed & Ball Wealth Management, with partner Jason Ball over 15 years ago. Many of their clients remain good friends to this day and are deeply saddened by her passing.

Debby’s talent with languages and interest in other places helped to ignite her call to travel throughout her life. Most notably, she has lived in Colombia, Japan and Mexico for long periods of time each, and all have a special place in her heart as small pieces of a larger home.

Her husband John and children Connor and Kenna live in Newbury Park. Much of her family, including her parents, still live in Wyoming. Deborah’s funerary service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church in Newbury Park, California. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to: Cancer Support Community, Valley Ventura, 530 Hampshire Rd., Westlake Village, CA 81362.

She imparted her special wisdom to people close to her, and was free and generous in giving advice to others. At the core of how she chose to live and the message she conveyed to others was to be present in everything you do. Don’t wish time away. Make everything count. She wanted nothing more than for her loved ones to live in such a way. Her surviving friends and family are indescribably grateful that she lived in such a way, so that she was able to make every precious second of her life matter.
