Pat Beckley, 88-year-old longtime Ten Sleep resident passed away on July 6 at the Worland Healthcare and Rehab Center.

He was born Patrick Henry Morris on October 27, 1928 in Ewing, Nebraska, the fifth of six children. At the age of five, he was sent to the orphanage in Casper, WY and was adopted by Edward and Alma Beckley at the age of 14 and moved to the family ranch in Ten Sleep. He attended school in Ten Sleep and then enlisted in the Navy in 1946, serving on the aircraft carrier Antietam in the South Pacific. He was in the Philippines during their National Independence Victory. After his discharge, he spent time with his brothers in Washington and Ohio. He returned to Ten Sleep where he met and married Alice Lisetta Schweighart, his bride for over 65 years, being blessed with three children. He worked on ranches and in the oil field returning to the family ranch in Ten Sleep in 1973. He retired from ranching in 1997 and later served two 2-year terms as Mayor of Ten Sleep. He loved spending time with friends, playing cards, and taking people elk hunting as many elusive wapiti in area 48 lost their battle due to his orchestration.

He was preceded in death by his son Mark, his parents, sisters, Alma Jane McLaughlin, Peggy Stevens, Jodi Schultz, Jenny Rose Kerr and one brother, Frank Morris.

Survivors include his wife Alice, daughter Cindy (Keith) Aune, son Ernie, grandchildren, Jeni (Bill) Rannow, Kennetta (Brian) Wasik, Brett (Amanda) Aune, Dirk (Nicki) Aune, Sawyer Lyman, 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way, one brother Jack (Romaine) Morris and numerous nephews and nieces.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Ten Sleep Cemetery. A light luncheon will follow at the Ten Sleep Methodist Church.
