County moves to Level 3 status; county facilities closed to public

Per a press release from the Washakie County Public Health, the City of Worland has also closed its offices and facilities to the public to follow the county's lead. Employees are still working and available for questions by calling city hall at 347-2486

The situation will be evaluated again in 14 days.

The Ten Sleep Council will be meeting tonight to discuss whether to close to the public.


Washakie Museum & Cultural Center is also closed to the public.

WORLAND – An increase of four new COVID-19 cases Tuesday night in Wyoming moved Washakie County from a Level 2 to a Level 3 status prompting the closure of all county facilities including the courthouse, libraries in Ten Sleep and Worland, University of Wyoming Extension offices and meeting rooms and the fairgrounds, according to Washakie County Commission Chair Fred Frandson.


Frandson said employees will report to work and residents can make appointments to see someone at the courthouse.

This is effective Wednesday, March 18, 2019.

The Wyoming Department of Health announced at 9 p.m. Tuesday night that testing at the Wyoming Public Health Laboratory has identified three additional reported cases in the state of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH). An additional case was identified by commercial reference laboratory testing.

The new cases involve an adult female in Park County, an adult female in Laramie County, an adult male in Sheridan County and an adult female in Sheridan County. No more information is available at this time regarding the Park County or Laramie County cases. The two new Sheridan County cases are close contacts of two previously identified cases from the county.

The total number of Wyoming cases is now 15.
