Groathouse tentatively awarded library bid

WORLAND – The Washakie County Commissioners met Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the Washakie County Courthouse to read a letter of recommendation from their engineering firm TSP, and draft a notice of intent to award the bid for the remodeling of the former Kennedy Ace Hardware building at 801 Big Horn Avenue into the new Washakie County Library to Groathouse Construction out of Cody.

It was drafted with the stipulation that the contract would not be awarded until the project is aligned with the budget set forth by the County Commission. TSP would work with Groathouse to develop a value engineering list along with associated cost savings to present to the commissioners for acceptance.

Once the project is within the budget, TSP will draft a contract agreement for signature.

The commissioners sent the letter of intent to Groathouse and are hoping to have the items requested at their next scheduled meeting on Sept. 1.

THE BIDS

Three companies submitted bids for the project — Groathouse, Heart Mountain Construction based out of Powell and Hughes Truss Company based out of Worland.
