David Cuellar Pimentel, Ed.D.

David was born in Worland, Wyoming October 18, 1939, a first generation American he was 81 years old at his passing on January 13, 2021. He passed away in Hurst,Texas. He was one of 21 children born to Apolonia Pimentel and his father was Antonio C. Pimentel.

David was a graduate of Worland High School where he lettered in football all three years and excelled in his academics. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Magic Valley Christian College, going on to receive his Master's degree from Abilene Christian University and finally, his Educational Doctorate in 1982 from the University of Denver in Colorado. David's professional career spanned fifty plus years in the educational field where he taught, administered and collaborated with two American Presidents, one President of Mexico, countless educational leaders, Governors and Legislators on effective methods for the successful education of Migrant children, which was how he started his life. He has received countless recognition awards and merits that highlight his love of education and how important it was during his lifetime.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Myrna J. Pimentel; his children; D. Miles (Andrea) Pimentel, John W. (Abby) Pimentel, Staci D. (Adam) Pope; 10 grandchildren. Also, blended into his family and care, Francis Pimentel, Bonnie Wallace, Tony Rodriguez and Amelia Kelii. Additionally, David is survived by his brother, R. Steve (Terri) Pimentel; sisters Cecilia (Pilar) Rubio, Antonia Pimentel (Joseph Ramos), Lorretta (Pascual) Alcaraz, Ruth Mackmiller and Francis (Richard Whiddon) Pimentel. Loved by a very large family and countless friends, his legacy is one of education and generosity and now he rests peacefully with our Lord Jesus Christ.
