February 18, 2021

Margaret Jean Doby, also known as Kc Merz, passed away peacefully at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona on February 12 following a stroke and series of seizures.

Kc was born to John and Billie Merz on September 13, 1954 at the Washakie Memorial Hospital in Worland, Wyoming. She was the first of four girls who spent quite a bit of their growing up years in their father's Merz Bakery.

Margaret graduated from Worland Senior High School in 1972 and continued her education at the University of Wyoming where she connected with her best friend Dennis Doby. After receiving her BS degree in 1977, she worked at the Rock Springs Hospital helping in the lab for several years. During this period of work, she married, had her daughter, Kristi, divorced, and then found a spark with her old friend, Dennis. They were married on March 17, 1988 in Rock Springs, Wyoming.

Eventually, Kc settled in Mesa, Arizona with her husband Dennis, daughter Kristi, and new son Robert James. It was in Mesa, Kc continued her education and worked to receive her phlebotomy and lab technician certification. She continued her lab work and thrived with her family life. She loved cross stitching, reading, crafts, and her dear birds and cats. After retirement, she enjoyed substitute teaching, but she delighted in the grandchildren she babysat and entertained. She would proudly chortle about their personalities and antics.

Kc was loved. She was a dear soul and will be missed.

Margaret Jean is survived by her husband Dennis, daughter Kristi Neuenschwander, granddaughters Jessica, Tristan, Harmony, Temperance, son Robert James "RJ" Doby, daughter-in-law Carolyn and granddaughter Olivia all of Mesa. Kc is also survived by her three sisters Mary Ann Merz of Powell, WY, Martha Cain (Larry) of Powell, and Carla Bryant (Bob) of Worland; cousins, Donna (Lloyd) Nielson, Etta Ann "Muff" (John) Hunzicker. Cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at http://www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
