Admiral Trucking wins Fleet Safety Award for second consecutive year

CHEYENNE — The Wyoming Trucking Association and Great West Casualty Company awarded Worland’s Admiral Transport Corporation the Best Overall Fleet Safety Award for both 2019 and 2020 on May 14.

The winning company was selected based on their mileage, safety programs, and accident ratios. Admiral Transport clocked 619,245 safe miles in 2019 and 695,414 in 2020.

After a cancellation last year due to COVID, both awards were presented by Wyoming Highway Patrol Captain Dan Wyrick and Lieutenant Dustin Ragon at the Fleet Safety Awards Luncheon.


Other 2019 awards for first place in various mileage categories went to Fremont Beverages, Worland; Admiral Transport Corp., Worland; BT, Inc. Riverton; Black Hills Trucking, Casper and Wal-Mart Transportation.

Second Place awardees included MLT Trucking, Torrington; C & Y Transportation, Casper; McMurry Ready Mix, Casper; Cowboy State Trucking, Kemmerer and ABF Freight System.


In third were Airgas, USA, Cheyenne; Dick Jones Trucking, Powell; Groendyke Transport, Inc., Riverton; Sinclair Trucking Co., Casper and Sinclair and FedEx Freight, Harrison, AR.

The 15 collective companies participating that year drove nearly 34 million miles across Wyoming.

In 2020, first place mileage awards were given to MLT Trucking, Torrington; Admiral Transport Corp., Worland; Dixon Bros., Inc., Newcastle and WalMart Transportation, Cheyenne.

That year second place went to Fremont Beverages, Worland; Airgas, USA, Cheyenne; BT, Inc., Riverton; and FedEx Freight, Harrison, AR.

Groendyke Transport, Riverton; Sinclair Trucking Co., Casper and Sinclair; and Cowboy State Trucking, Kemmerer were awarded third.

Thirteen companies entered the Annual Fleet Safety Contest in 2020, and drove a collective 27 million miles.

Trophies and plaques were supplied by Great West Casualty Company.
