Barbara Ann Wirtzberger

Barbara Ann Wirtzberger, 70, passed away on February 21, 2022, in Lehi, Utah after a short battle with cancer. Barb was born January 31, 1952 in Greybull, Wyoming the daughter of Hugh William and Viola (Peterson) Reilly.

Barb graduated from Greybull High School class of 1970. After high school, she attended Powell Community College and BYU, where she became a respiratory therapist. Barb married her high school sweetheart, Michael Todd Wirtzberger on July 7, 1972, in the Provo, Utah temple for all eternity.

Barb and Mike spent their first few years of marriage in California and the Philippines for Mike's service in the U.S. Navy. Barb returned to Greybull to begin their family while Mike was finishing his service with the Navy. While in Greybull she worked for South Big Horn County Hospital, the Chamber of Commerce, and became a career employee for the United States Post Office. Barb worked as a letter carrier for the town of Greybull for 40 years.

Mike and Barb had three children, Darcy, Codi, and Tyson. Barb had a big personality and lots of love in a small frame. Mike and Barb's love for their community, the Big Horn Mountains, and Yellowstone was undeniable. She passed that love of Greybull and the Big Horn Mountains to all her children and grandchildren. You could feel and see the love Barb had through all the service she gave to so many people. Barb was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions throughout her life in the Church. Barb was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Peggy Reilly.

Barb is survived by her husband, Michael Todd Wirtzberger; her 3 children: Darcy (Wirtzberger) Garrison, Codi (Wirtzberger) Welsh and husband Jared, Tyson Wirtzberger and wife Amy; along with her 12 grandchildren: Sydney, Mara, Branden, Stockton, Audrey, Lucy, Hunter, Berlynn, Nicholas, Carleigh, Austin, and Tristan. Survivors also include her siblings: Edith Jo (Rich) Weeks, Dennis (Sharon) Reilly, James (Linda) Reilly, Steve Reilly and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022, with a visitation from 9-9:45 a.m. at the Greybull/Basin Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Graveside services will be held after at the Donald J Ruhl Memorial Cemetery in Greybull, Wyoming.
