Irene Babbett Yule

Irene Babbett (Csizmadi) Yule, 79, passed away on April 22, 2023, at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

Irene was born March 5th, 1944 in Lichtenfels, Germany to Rudolph Hipp and Hedwig Schedel. At the age of 7, Irene traveled on the USS General R. M. Blatchford with her step-father, John Csizmadi, mother Hedwig Csizmadi and brother Norbert Csizmadi to Ellis Island in New York. Like any other 7 year old, traveling brought her both fear and excitement. Her father, John, a Hungarian refugee from Tahitotfalu, Hungary was prompted to flee his home country after being wounded by the Russians in a battle over an airstrip. With his family in tow, the plan to escape the turmoil from the occupation of German Nazis, soon followed by the Russian Soviets was acted upon. For Irene growing up during this time could be described as difficult at best. Like many refugees during this time, Irene and her family were sponsored by Clif Snyder, finding refuge in Worland, Wyoming, with her father working on the Snyder farm and ranch on South Flat. Irene found safety and friendship in Worland, ultimately deciding to spend her life and raise a family of her own in Washakie County. Irene grew up with her brother and many friends that knew and loved her.

Irene met Dennis Dunbar Yule, a route manager for the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company, and the two were married on March 28th, 1963. To this union, 3 children were born; James, Tracy and Jeff. Dennis passed away in 1987 from cancer. Later in her life, Irene met Roy Lemmon, spending a short time married.

Irene loved working with the public, working in small hobby and retail stores in Worland, most notably at Pamida, where she spent many years. If you were fortunate enough to know her, you know you could count on a smile and a laugh from almost any interaction with her. Irene had a wonderful sense of humor and even if she just met you for the first time, you were sure to be entertained with her wit and humor.

Irene was extremely artistic. She absolutely loved painting, woodburning, wood working, glass etching, crocheting, needle point, decoupaging, photography and almost anything that would allow her to engage her creative side. She loved playing Pinochle and cribbage, often hosting afternoon Pinochle with some of her friends. Irene had a green thumb and could always be seen working in her yard. Irene loved the outdoors and frequented any body of water where a fish could be had. Irene had a great singing voice and could sing Lynn Anderson's Rose Garden to perfection.

Irene was preceded in death by her father, John Csizmadi, husband, Dennis Dunbar Yule, her daughter Tracy Serres, and her great-grandson Tanner William Scheeler. She is survived by her mother, Hedwig Csizmadi of Greeley, Colorado; Brother Norbert Csizmadi of Greeley, Colorado; Sisters Trudy, Edith and Judy; Son James Yule (Laurie) of Worland,Wyoming; Son Jeff Yule (Terrie) of Worland, Wyoming; Grandchildren Brandon Yule (Shalene), Alyssa Davis (JB), Christopher Davis (Priyanka), Logan Yule, Carley Yule and Cody Keller (Alyssa); Great-Grandchildren Corbin Yule, Terek Yule, Trevin Christopher, Adalynn Mae Scheeler, Ella Raelynn Davis, Holden Keller, Lucas Keller and many other loving family and friends.

In honor of Irene's wishes, she asked that no formal services be had, and requested that any donations be made in her name to the New Hope Humane Society at 700 Fifteen Mile Rd., P.O. Box 1704, Worland, Wyoming, 82401.
