Hinkel new board president for American Medical Technologists

American Medical Technologists, a leading professional organization dedicated to advancing allied health professionals, has announced the election of Martha “Marty” Hinkel, medical laboratory scientist and American medical technologist, as the new board of directors president.

With a distinguished background of service to AMT and a wealth of experience in the allied health field, Hinkel assumes this leadership role, bringing her expertise and vision to guide the organization.

Hinkel has been an esteemed member of AMT for more than two decades and has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence in her profession, per an AMT press release.

She holds a respected MLS (AMT) certification, signifying her proficiency in medical laboratory science and adherence to the highest standards of care. Throughout her career, Hinkel has advocated for professional development, continuous learning, and the promotion of best practices within the allied health community.

“I am honored to step into the role of president of the board of directors at AMT,” said Hinkel. “Since 1939 AMT has supported allied health professionals, and I am excited to work collaboratively with the Board and our 100,000 members to further our mission and elevate the standards of our profession. Each member of AMT truly has a voice. I will work to help our members find that same sense of belonging that I have.”

Hinkel’s elevation to the national presidency is a testament to her dedication and contributions to AMT and to the field of allied health. She has distinguished herself serving in state society leadership roles since 2008 and has earned numerous national and state awards for service and professional excellence. Under her leadership, AMT will continue to empower its members through certification, education, and professional resources, solidifying the association’s position as a leading authority in allied health.

Hinkel grew up in Thermopolis, graduating from Spring County High School in 1984. Currently, Hinkel is laboratory manager at Washakie Medical Center in Worland.
