Stanley Henry Wostenberg, 85, passed away at the Advanced Care Hospital of Montana on November 8, 2023. He left behind a legacy of hard work, love, and a deep connection to his Worland roots.

He was born on September 28, 1938, in Worland, Wyoming to Otto Fritz and Irene (Nelson) Wostenberg. Stan was raised on a farm, instilling in him a strong work ethic that would define his life.

In 1960, Stan joined the Army, dedicating 3 1/2 years to serving his country before receiving an honorable discharge. It was during a seemingly routine search for his brother while dragging main that Stan's life took a momentous turn. Fate led him to Jane McHenry, and shortly thereafter, he proposed. Their union was blessed with two children, creating a foundation for a family that would be central to Stan's life.

Stan began his career at Worland Motors, where he worked for about six years before venturing into entrepreneurship by establishing his own mechanic shop. For 40 years, Stan poured his heart and soul into his work, never truly retiring. His dedication and commitment extended beyond the call of duty, as he would often return to lend a helping hand long after formal retirement age.

A true people person, Stan was known for his sociable nature. He loved interacting with customers, never meeting a stranger. His welcoming spirit created an environment where everyone felt valued and appreciated.

In his leisure time, Stan found joy in snowmobiling, becoming the first person in the Big Horn Basin to groom trails for the benefit of the community. He would sacrifice sleep, working late into the night and rising early in the morning to ensure the trails were pristine for everyone's enjoyment.

Weekends, according to Stan, belonged to his kids. He cherished family time at the lake, mountains and outdoors in general. He not only enjoyed the serenity of nature but also shared his love for water skiing with friends and family. In 1980, Stan and Jane purchased their home by the golf course, where Stan found daily joy in watching the sunrise, taking pride in the beauty of Worland that surrounded him.

Above all, Stan treasured his time with his children, grandchildren, and his wife, Jane, was the light of his life. His enduring love, tireless work ethic, and genuine connection with others will be remembered fondly by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Marjorie Graves, Barbara Payne and Judy Wostenberg.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jane; children Julie Wilkes of Gurnsey, Wyoming and Steven Wostenberg of Douglas, Wyoming; brother Stuart (Connie) Wostenberg of Worland; grandchildren Matthew Wilkes of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Amanda Wilkes of Fayattvile, North Carolina and Nicole Prince of Loris, South Carolina; great-grandchildren: Lucas, Dominic and Rylae.

Funeral services were held 11:00 AM, Tuesday November 14, 2023 at the Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Father Robert Rodgers officiating. Graveside services followed.
