Alice Lisetta (Schweighart) Beckley

Alice Lisetta (Schweighart) Beckley, 90, passed away January 14, 2024, at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Alice was born moments after her twin brother, Allen "Butch" on May 18, 1933, in Gebo, Wyoming, the youngest of eleven children born to Charles Bernard and Wilhemina Lisetta (Tigress) Schweighart.

She attended the Schweighart country one-room school with Butch through the 8th grade. Her parents then purchased a house in Worland so they could attend high school. She graduated from Worland High School in 1951. While cooking at a ranch in Ten Sleep, Alice met Patrick Henry Beckley and they were married on November 8, 1951, in Billings, Montana. The couple was blessed with 65 years together; three children, Cynthia, Ernest, and Mark; 6 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Through the years the family lived in Ten Sleep, Thermopolis, Worland, and Moorcroft, Wyoming. Alice picked up numerous jobs during those years including working at a hardware store in Thermopolis and cleaning motel rooms and homes. After living a few years at Belle Creek, Montana the family returned in 1973 to the Beckley Ranch on Otter Creek, south of Ten Sleep. Alice worked at the Holly Sugar factory in Worland and later became the school cook at Ten Sleep Schools until retiring in 2002. She was well-known for the cinnamon rolls she made for school and other activities around town. She was active in the Methodist Church, the Senior Center & meals on wheels, children's programs, Friends of the Library, pinochle and bridge clubs, and gardening. She loved attending all school activities and was seen at all volleyball and basketball games as long as she was able.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pat in 2017; son, Mark in 1997; brothers and spouses: Edward (Lynn), Herman "Shorty" (Elaine), Carl, Allen "Butch" (Elaine); sisters and spouses: Marie (Ted) Pitt, Dorothy "Dot" (Lee) Brunk, Myrt (Harlow) Davis; a set of newborn twin siblings, and most recently, since her passing, her granddaughter, Sawyer Lyman.

Survivors include her son, Ernie Beckley of Ten Sleep; daughter, Cindy (Keith) Aune of Bozeman, Montana; sister-in-law, Pat Schweighart; daughter-in-law Neysha Lyman and grandchildren, Shelby Lyman; Jeni (Bill) Rannow, Kennetta (Brian) Wasik, Brett (Amanda) Aune, Dirk Aune; great-grandchildren: Eli, Tim, Chris, Noah, Hannah, Macaiah, Titus, Trey, Ryland, Kace, Draco, Avianna, and Easton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held the afternoon of June 29th at the Ten Sleep United Methodist Church with inurnment following at the Ten Sleep Cemetery.
