Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years

Sawyer Elizabeth Lyman

Sawyer Elizabeth Lyman, a resident of Ten Sleep, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at the Washakie Medical Center after a prolonged illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. Sawyer was born on October 22, 1995, to Mark and Neysha (Decker) Beckley. Her father, Mark, passed away in 1997. Her mother remarried in 2002, and Sawyer gained her "Daddy," Tyler Lyman.

Sawyer graduated from Ten Sleep Schools in 2014. During high school, she was a member of the Ten Sleep Volunteer Ambulance crew, where she took pride in her duties and helping others. After graduation, Sawyer returned to Ten Sleep Schools as a substitute teacher and coach. In 2018, she was blessed with her son, Easton Tyler Lyman. Being Easton's mother was Sawyer's greatest joy. Later, she moved to Gillette to work for Thunder Basin's volleyball team, where she loved coaching volleyball and her "kids".

Sawyer loved anything outdoors. Whether she was riding her golf cart around town, fishing, kayaking, etc. Most importantly she loved to snowmobile with her dad. Sawyer was blessed with a sister and tons of friends who adored her. She loved being with her friend, Ally Molzahn getting nails done, going out to dinner, but most of all spending time together.

When Sawyer's health began to decline, she moved back to Ten Sleep where she surrounded herself with family and friends that would support her and Easton. The last few months Sawyer had been behind the scenes helping her mom with a new coffee cabin in Ten Sleep. She worked hard ensuring everything from the products, inventory and even the logo were properly considered. We are thankful for her ideas, input, dedication and ability to work while being ill. She will forever be a part of the new family adventure.

That is who Sawyer was. A dedicated mother, daughter, a sister and friend. Sawyer was known for her large smile, quirky snorty laugh and enough kindness to fill a room. That is what will be truly missed but never forgotten.

She is survived by her son, Easton Tyler Lyman; mom, Neysha Lyman; sister, Shelby Lyman; grandparents, Nancy Decker, Betty and Dwight Lyman; uncles, Seth (Mary) Decker, Jack Lyman and Ernie Beckley; aunts, Annette (Ernie) Goddard and Cindy (Keith) Aune, and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jace Don Lyman; daddy, Tyler Lyman; father, Mark Beckley; grandpa, Don Decker; grandma, Alice Beckley and aunt, Lori Lyman.

A scholarship account has been established at Sunlight Federal Credit Union for her son. Please make checks out to the Easton Lyman Scholarship Fund. Checks may be sent to PO Box 867 Worland, Wyoming 82401.

A memorial to celebrate Sawyer's life will be held at the Mountain View Assembly of God Church 501 2nd Street, Ten Sleep on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 2-4 pm. Please come and go as you can. Online condolences may be made at http://www.bryant
