Terrell Vernon Skrettingland

Terrell Vernon Skrettingland passed peacefully on May 24, 2024 at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Worland, Wyoming. Terry was born in Worland on November 29, 1951 to Kyle Aadne and Freda Mae (Cheeney) Skrettingland. He attended elementary through 7th grade in Worland. In 1966 he moved with his family to Cheyenne graduating from Cheyenne Central in 1971. He was married to Lisa Brandt Grear and later divorced. They had a son, Justin Kyle. Then he married Julie. They were the parents of Rebecca Marie.

Terrell joined the U.S. Navy immediately after high school and served on the USS Oriskany, as a mechanic, in Vietnam. After being honorably discharged, he attended Casper College and mechanics school in Syndey, Nebraska. He drove dump truck for his father Kyle's Trucking) in Cheyenne and then became a long-haul driver. He contiuned in this profession until his health began to decline.

Terry loved his family, especially the Terrell and Cheeney family reunions. His daughter, Rebecca's best memory of her Dad was when she was came to her grandparent's home in Cheyenne and he was there with her brother, Justin, nieces, Claire and Isabelle and cousins, Jolie and Karissa. He also loved camping and taking drives in the mountains. Terry had a tenacious spirit. He was determined to do things long after he was able.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents and son, Justin. Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca of Cheyenne; granddaughters, Claire and Isabelle of Montana; sisters, Lynn Wilson (Glen) of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Arlene Heinrich (Glen) of Worland; nieces, Jolie Klassen (Jon) of Fresno, California and Karissa Mues (Gus) of Cheyenne, Wyoming; nephews, George Anastopolous of Cheyenne, Ethan and Weston Klassen of Fresno; aunt, Shirley Lapp of Worland; uncles, Richard (Carol) of Sheridan, Wyoming, Everett Cheeney (Rosemary) of Hanford, California and numerous cousins.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, June 3, 2024 at Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery in Cheyenne, Wyoming where he will be laid to rest near his parents and son.
