The Research & Planning section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reported Monday that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell from 3.8% in February to 3.7% in March. Wyoming’s unemployment rate was higher than its March 2022 level of 3.3% and slightly higher than the current U.S. unemployment rate of 3.5%. Washakie County is accepting bids for Cottonwood Creek Bridge in Winchester. As $6,500 was previously allotted for the bridge’s transportation, the county will support up to that amount for the removal of the bridge from its current location to its new owner’s property. Bids will be accepted up until 5 p.m. on May 1. Joan Molly Susanna was the daughter of Lenard and Elizabeth (Hart) Yost. She was born on Oct. 9, 1933, in Billings, MT, and baptized into Christ on Jan. 7, 1934, at First German Congregational Church, in Billings. She was confirmed in the Christian faith on June 6, 1948, at Big Timber Lutheran Church, Big Timber, MT. She graduated from Sweet Grass County High School in Big Timber in 1951. Carol Elaine (Bunnell) Allred passed away peacefully in Rifle, Colorado, Friday, April 14th at the age of 87. Born December 27th, 1935, the first born to Orval (Doc) and Mildred Bunnell, and sister to Janet (Lovelace- Grand Junction, CO), Gene Bunnell (deceased), and Tom Bunnell (deceased). For the fifth year in a row, Chief Washakie FFA has won the proficiency sweepstakes at the Wyoming State FFA Convention in Cheyenne last week. The sweepstakes are awarded to the chapter that wins the top three proficiency awards at the state level. Via Wyoming News Exchange CASPER — Rocky Mountain Power, Wyoming’s largest electric utility, wants to increase ratepayers’ bills by an average of 7.6% in response to higher-than-expected fuel and transmission costs during 2022. Authorities investigate more phone shenanigans BUFFALO (WNE) - Local law enforcement agencies continue to receive bogus phone calls, and they don't know why. CODY - As soon as Park County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Jack Hatfield called his last witness to testify on the seventh day of Carolyn Aune's murder trial on Tuesday, her counsel, Elisabeth Trefonas, filed for an acquittal, saying the evidence presented was not enough to convict her client.
