    WORLAND - The Slick Creek Fire at 8:30 p.m., Sunday, June 14, burning approximately 14 acres of sagebrush and cheatgrass on Bureau of Reclamation land two miles southeast of Worland. Washakie County and Bureau of Land Management firefighters responded and the fire was contained by midnight.     WORLAND – The Washakie County Commissioners appointed Christy Schneider as the new Clerk of the Fifth Judicial District Court to replace current clerk SuZann Whitlock who submitted her letter of resignation at the June 2 commissioners meeting.     WORLAND — While Ten Sleep continues to finalize plans for their Fourth of July celebration, other events this summer have been canceled due to concerns and the impact of COVID-19.   • Names released in Wednesday's fatal crash

    On June 17, 2020, a fatal crash occurred around milepost 169 on US 20 north of Worland, Wyoming. At 6:18 a.m., Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers were notified of a motor vehicle collision. A 2006 Jeep Liberty was headed southbound on US 20 when the driver, identified as 70-year-old Greybull, Wyoming resident Marian Duda, crossed into the northbound lane, colliding head-on with a 1992 Chevrolet 2500. Duda was wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Chevrolet has been identified as 47-year-old... Full story
