John Wilfred Greet passed away at the age of 91 on November 12, 2022. He was born in Worland, Wyoming on December 24, 1930, the youngest of Frank and Edna Lucile (Pyle) Greet's six children. He attended grade school in the one room "Greet School" and went from a class of three to his first year of high school in Worland. He finished high school at the Mount Ellis Academy in Montana and attended Union College in Nebraska before returning to work on the family ranch south of Ten Sleep. He grew up... Full story
Sunnie Dawn Bates, also known with the last names Seghetti, Maser and Sanderson, passed away in her sleep in the early morning hours of November 6th, 2022. She lost her long battle to breast cancer that had spread around her body and to her brain. Madonna was born on August 16, 1920, in the small town of Stuart, Nebraska. She and her three brothers bounced the three miles to school in a cart pulled by their little pony, Twinkle. After her third year of high school (during the depression), the family found it necessary to move west. They settled in the Big Horn Basin of Wyoming. She completed high school in Basin. Patricia Ann Cogdill, 88, passed on Saturday November 13, 2022. She was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on May 14, 1934 to Victor and Ethel (Smith) Ryan. During WWII, Pat received her fourth and fifth grade education at Heart Mountain. Her classmates kept in touch throughout their lifetime. It was a common occurrence for classmates to ask about Pat while visiting the museum. An extended family member would get a call and would connect them with Pat. Gerald "Jerry" Geis left his walking sticks and leg braces behind as he walked into the arms of Jesus on November 2, 2022, in Loveland, Colorado. He was lovingly surrounded by his family. Jerry was born to Nicholas Eugene and Hazel Irene (Harvard) Geis in a three-room log cabin near Ten Sleep, Wyoming, on August 31, 1933. Those early years were pretty adventurous for the Geis kids. CODY – Its 150th anniversary — once expected to bring record visitation to Yellowstone National Park —- ended with lower-than-normal attendance, but Superintendent Cam Sholly is still smiling.
