    WORLAND — After approving a special exemption for a hair salon, the Worland Board of Adjustment and Planning Commission turned their attention to discussion allowing residential living in the central business district. Building official Randy Adams said the board has had some preliminary discussions on looking at allowing residential living in the central business district to help eliminate the empty storefronts in downtown Worland.     Powell (WNE) — The first grizzly bear sighting of 2019 was reported March 8 in Yellowstone National Park, when visitors observed a large bruin between Canyon Village and Fishing Bridge. Additionally, park officials say grizzly tracks were reportedly seen between Mammoth Hot Springs and Norris Junction on March 11. Male grizzlies come out of hibernation in mid-to-late March.     WORLAND – The Washakie County Fair Board met for their monthly meeting on Monday, in advance of the 2019 Fair, to discuss the possibility of adding a demolition derby to Saturday night events, and set final pricing for events. Joe Maul of Worland proposed acting as contractor for a 25-car derby, to be held on Saturday night, closing out the week’s activities.     WORLAND – Every year, a coach is selected to receive the honor of the title of “coach of the year” in speech and debate. A coach is chosen for each class, 1A/2A, 3A and 4A. This year, five different coaches received nominations for 3A. However, it was Worland High School’s coach Rick Dorn who took home the honor.     WORLAND — About 85 fourth-graders from Worland West Side Elementary School got a glimpse into the inner workings of the city’s sewer lagoon during a recent field trip. Public Works Superintendent Brian Burky and Jodie Crawford, chief wastewater treatment plant operator, said the tour was the first for the city.     WORLAND – On March 6, Governor Mark Gordon signed into law House Bill 0171, which removes hemp and hemp products from regulation by the Wyoming Controlled Substances Act, and authorizes hemp production and processing through the state Department of Agriculture.
